The iconic Rocket League can also be played on Sony’s new PlayStation 5, but it is only thanks to a new update that players benefit particularly from this platform.

Starting tomorrow, August 18th, a new patch for Rocket League will be available, which will bring a number of technical improvements to Sony’s PlayStation 5. Among other things, you can enjoy the car soccer game at 120 Hz.

This is made possible by a new setting option for the graphic quality. In the corresponding menu on the PS5 you can choose between quality and performance mode in the future.

If you decide on the quality mode, you will get a 4K resolution at 60 fps including HDR use. If you should use a 1080p display, the game is reduced from 4K to 1080p via supersampling and in this way also delivers an optimized look.

In performance mode, however, the resolution is reduced to 2688×1512 pixels; this corresponds to 70 percent of the 4K resolution. In addition to HDR, you also get 120 constant fps guaranteed here. The game’s UI is still displayed in 4K. When using a 1080p display, it is calculated down from 2688×1512 to 1080p via supersampling.

In addition to the new graphics settings, you can also secure new packages as part of the new Season 4:
