The music game Rocksmith + was supposed to be released in 2021, but was postponed to this year – and then largely sank into oblivion. Now the title is back with an official release date.
With Rocksmith+, Ub isoft wants to give learners a new opportunity to learn an instrument in a playful way. The new music learning subscription service was supposed to be released in 2021, but was then postponed to 2022 in autumn – since then: silence. Today, however, the developer studio finally had positive news ready.
From September 6th, Rocksmith + will initially be available exclusively for Windows PC in the Ubisoft Store. The proven Rocksmith method is taken up and refined after it had already inspired more than five million people.
The music learning subscription, which will start in a few days, is available in different versions. A one-month subscription costs EUR 14.99, three months cost EUR 39.99. If you take out an annual subscription right away, you can secure a noticeable discount at a price of 99.99 dollars compared to the monthly subscription. The release for mobile devices is also planned for a later date; consoles are not mentioned in today’s announcement.
Created by a team of musicians, educators and developers, the main features of the title are officially stated as follows:
- Players can learn to play the guitar with true-to-the-original arrangements of songs from Sony Music, Universal, and other studios. At launch, the service offers access to a library of more than 5,000 songs, with more songs being added every week by artists like The Clash, Juan Gabriel, Alicia Keys, Santana and many more. Rocksmith+ includes music from a variety of genres including rock, metal, pop, latin, hip-hop and indie from countries around the world.
- Rocksmith+ offers a range of new and improved practice tools to give players a fun, personalized experience for every skill level. Thanks to the Adaptive Difficulty feature, Rocksmith+ dynamically adapts to players’ skills as they play, introducing new notes and chords as they progress. The technology determines the ideal level of difficulty by measuring the sum total of the players’ skills and not just the performance for a single song.
- Rocksmith+ introduces the free Rocksmith+ Connect app for iOS and Android, which allows the smartphone to be used as a microphone and players with Rocksmith+ to connect to the PC. Players benefit from Rocksmith+’s note recognition and real-time feedback without the need for additional peripherals. The app works with acoustic instruments or electric guitars played through an amplifier. Alternatively, users can connect their electric instruments with the Rocksmith+ Real Tone cable, sold separately. The Rocksmith+ Connect app also doubles as an accurate, professional-grade guitar tuner. - Improve your skills with interactive lessons and recommended exercises that the service creates based on individual goals, existing skill levels and progress.
- In addition to learning and improving game mechanics, the learning experience can be continued through Rocksmith Discover. Video lessons are made available here covering proper technique, equipment, instrument care, understanding music and more.
In addition, Ubisoft confirmed collaborations with leading instrument manufacturers such as Gibson, Epiphone, Kramer, Ibanez, Ernie Ball, Ernie Ball Music Man, Marshall, Orange, Mesa/Boogie, Roland, Boss and Electro-Harmonix.
