Rockstar Games is expanding! The GTA makers have now brought a new label to life together with CircoLoco – and GTA plays a role in this.
In cooperation with CircoLogo, Rockstar Games has founded the new record label CircoLoco Records. This is no coincidence, after all, music has always been a fundamental swine of Rockstar Games. In the past, the studio has supported underground artists and scenes in their own titles, the GTA series lives from the numerous radio stations and the background music.
The musical in-game development finally culminated in completely digitally implemented clubs in GTA Online with the after-hours update and the publication of The Cayo Perico Heist and the associated opportunity to discover new social spaces and new music.
In the future, Rockstar Games intends to detach this musical vein from its own games and bring it into focus in the form of its own label. The new partner CircoLoco has hosted some of the world’s largest parties and is a well-known brand in the modern dance music field. Together they want to cause a sensation with the record label.
We’ll start with a first EP on June 4th, which will include a number of tracks from the upcoming first compilation “Monday Dreamin ‘”. On this album, CircoLoco Records presents contributions by some visionary artists from the different eras of the best CircoLoco parties. Among other things, there is new music by Moodymann, the Resident DJ of Music Lockers, After-Hours-Resident DJ Dixon, Carl Craig, Luciano, Seth Troxler and Rampa as well as by emerging artists such as Sama ‘Abdulhadi, Lost Souls of Saturn & TOKiMONSTA, Red Axes and many more.
The EP will include new tracks by Sama ‘Abdulhadi, Kerri Chandler, Rampa and Seth Troxler as well as a new Dixon remix of Deichkind’s “Endlich Autonom”. The track “Lumartes” by Seth Troxler is already available. More EPs will be released weekly in advance of the full compilation release on July 9th.
