Last night, Rockstar announced via Twitter that the servers for the Rockstar Games Launcher had been taken offline for a short time in order to carry out maintenance work. But the downtime dragged on and on. Now, suddenly and surprisingly, the sale of the PC version has been temporarily put on hold.
PC version is no longer sold
A look into the Rockstar-Shop shows: At the moment, PC gamers can no longer purchase the Remastered Trilogy. The reasons for this are still unclear, but we will of course keep you up to date on all developments in this matter.
Until there is a statement from Rockstar on the matter, you can read the chronology of the unusually long downtime in the following section.

What is possible, what is not?
In short: Nothing is currently working! The maintenance work unfortunately affects all areas that are related to starting, activating and updating your Rockstar games. This also applies to the GTA Remastered Trilogy, which currently wants to be started by most annoyed players.

the Email from a support agent also gives us further information about the exact effects of the server downtime:
- Authentication: If a Rockstar game is started, authentication must take place successfully, unless you have previously switched to offline mode with wise foresight. Since authentication is currently not possible, the games fail to start.
- Downloads: Unfortunately you can’t even start downloading the trilogy or other titles like GTA Online or Red Dead Redemption 2 at the moment. So if you hoped to at least shovel the game files onto your hard drive, you are also doomed to wait.
- Cloud Service: Even if you could play, the next problem might not be far. Because if you rely on the convenient cloud service for your saved games, you would not currently have access to your files.
- Store: At least good news, at least for your wallet. She can currently breathe a sigh of relief because you can’t buy anything in the Rockstar Store anyway. Your account will thank you!
