Where do I find the coffin to reach the Under Ruins in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree?
The ladder that will help you find the location of the coffin in the Black Castle of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is located on the main rampart. From there, you can take the elevator to the seed storage.
At the end of the wall, at the balustrade on the left, you will find the ladder that takes you to the lower part of the wall. Follow the small path that runs along the wall until you reach the small waterfall, then go through it to reach a room with a painting. Continue your adventure in this area until you come across a ladder, use it and then continue your progress in this part of the castle. You will of course fall on the coffin.
At the end of the day you will arrive at the Recluse River and have the Under Ruins in front of you.
Wondering if you can visit the interior of the Under Ruins? The answer is yes! The access to this ruin is blocked by a sleeping furnace giant. To wake him up, just throw him a Large stove pot directly into his brazier. To do this, you will need to climb onto the ruins to his left so that you have enough height to throw the pot in the middle of his basket at him. When the pot hits, he will rise again and you will be able to enter the ruins.
- The recipe for the Great Oven Pot can be obtained from the Grand Potentate’s Handbook (2), hidden in the dilapidated traveler’s lodging, which is located at the bottom left of the Ellac Viaduct.
In the Ruins of Unte, you can transform the Stone Furnace Sword into a Sword of Light or a Sword of Darkness. If you have not yet acquired this weapon, know that you can find it in this location, but we advise you not to pick it up in the ruins. In fact, the Stone Furnace Sword can be found in three different locations in the Kingdom of Shadows, so if you are interested in this weapon, do not hesitate to consult our guide to the Sword of Light and Darkness to learn more about how to obtain it and its transformation system!
If you want to reach Rakshasa’s Mausoleum to pick up his Great Katana and armor set, below you will find all the explanations to find the path that will lead you to him.
From the sanctuary of “Amont de la rivière des reclus”, which is a little further north of the Unte ruins, just follow the edge of the cliff until you reach the part with the burial birds (you don’t have to jump from the edge of one cliff to another, just walk along the cliffs). From this edge of the ravine, descend on the cliffs below until you reach the river. Then head southeast and you will naturally arrive at the mausoleum.
If you want to reach the Abyss region, all you have to do is go down the Hermit River. Easy to say, but impossible to do without a minimum of guidance! We’ll explain everything below.
Start at the place of grace “Amont de la rivière des reclus” then follow the cliffs on the right where there are flies to reach another place of grace “downstream of the river des Reclus”. From this place of grace, position yourself to the east then walk to the edge of the cliff. There you can see tombstones that serve as giant staircases.
Go down the cliff with the help of these improvised steps and then head towards the southeast. At the edge of the cliff you will notice new tombstone stairs. Take them with you, then follow the cliff and find the entrance to the Catacombs of Blacklight, the dungeon that gives access to the Abyss.
