AMD’s two new flagship graphics cards, the RX 7900 XT and the RX 7900 XTX, will be released on December 13th. Based on a rumor from BoardChannels, many previously assumed that only AMD’s own graphics cards would be available at launch.
However, more recent information suggests that RX 7900 models from various board partners will also be available for the release – and not one to two weeks later, as feared.
Headline
The update for the timely release of the custom cards comes from our Europe colleagues from ComputerBase. Based on information received from the board partners, at least some of them should start together with AMD.
These should really be custom models that differ from AMD’s own versions (MBA: Made by AMD), and not just MBAs with a modified design.

In all probability, these custom models will go a step further and trump AMD’s own MBAs in terms of performance and price.

What custom models could there be at launch?
ComputerBase’s post doesn’t mention exactly which board partners will go on sale as early as December 13th.
Altogether it should be at a later date at least custom models from the following ten board partners type: ASRock, Asus, Biostar, Gigabyte, MSI, PowerColor, Sapphire, Vastarmor, XFX and Yeston.
Probably start from it at least Asus, PowerColor and Sapphire already on December 13th. All three manufacturers have already released teasers or announcements for their RX-7900 variants.
Will one of the custom models come within reach of the Nvidia flagship RTX 4090? According to AMD, at least the standard cards are not designed for this duel.
