Just yesterday, the next Nintendo Direct was rumored to be much closer than you might think, and it’s going to be full of news for avid Zelda fans. This report comes directly from Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb on a recent YouTube livestream.
In the video, Grubb hints that the Nintendo Direct could take place the week of September 12, the same week that the Tokyo Game Show is expected to start – which is indeed a track record, as the Nintendo Switch has been around since 2017.
When it comes to what the rumored Nintendo Direct will feature, Grubb suggested “I think there’s going to be a lot of Zelda stuff in this thing.” More specifically, it’s believed that Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD ports are likely to be Coming soon to Nintendo Switch. These titles have been rumored before, and are also very much the ones fans want to see on newer consoles.
There are also rumors of “third parties coming,” but Grubb doesn’t think that’s all that exciting.

After that, Grubb said that Nintendo had finished versions of Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD. According to reports, Nintendo will “finish the game, get things ready for the Switch, and move on to them.” Remember when Xenoblade Chronicles 3 came out three months earlier than we expected?
