A new Knights of the Old Republic might be underway as rumours that a non-EA studio might be working on the fan favourite RPG franchise.
Rumour: New Knights of the Old Republic Being Developed Outside of EA
Rumours of a Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic game in development have been circling before, but new details that it will be developed by a studio outside of Electronic Arts has now popped up.
Lucasfilm announced during this month that they would be licensing Star Wars games to other companies, which included Ubisoft as part of it’s new games label. According to the source Bespin Bulletin which was picked up by VGC, plus others, KOTOR is one of the titles that will be developed outside of EA and Bioware. Bespin Bulletin shared:
Amongst my digging, I heard there is a Knights of the Old Republic project in development somewhere. “I talked to a couple of people, and I also found out that [Bloomberg reporter] Jason Schreier said that it’s not with EA, and we’ll ‘never guess’ who the studio is that’s making this game.
Bulletin also added that they weren’t sure if the bounty hunter game is with them but “EA is working on stuff and there’s another unannounced game at EA”.
So far there is no confirmation on which developer is currently working on the game, but it’s interesting to see which studio has taken on the project.
