Rune 2 assets and source code are now in the hands of its publisher Ragnarok.
Updates
After obtaining a hard drive with the required files, Ragnarok has protected Rune 2's assets and source code.
The assets were previously owned by game developer Human Head, which was acquired by Bethesda in November.
Ragnarok filed a lawsuit against Bethesda and Human Head in December and sought $ 100 million in damages and assets to continue supporting the game through DLC.
As of press time, it is unknown whether the assets and source code in the hands of the issuer caused the lawsuit to be dropped, but things seem to be close to being resolved (thanks to GI.biz).
The original story is as follows.

Rune 2 publisher Ragnarok has filed a lawsuit against developer Human Head Studios.
It seems that the story of the Human Head Studio may start a new chapter. The studio recently released Rune 2. As part of the new Roundhouse Studios, instead of letting employees go, the team was absorbed by Bethesda.
Roundhouse is the new name for Human Head, but it has hardly changed. The move surprised many people, including not only Ragnarok, Rune 2's own publisher. The company has now brought "heads" to court.
In the lawsuit (PDF), Ragnarok sought compensation of $ 100 million and acquired assets and source code for Rune 2 in order to continue supporting the game.
The filing file is large, but it reveals what seems to be bothering development and the resulting decline in communication. Ragnarok says that Human Head has agreed to an 11-mile contract, and the studio will receive payment after clearing each milestone. The human head will assume development responsibilities and community management, leaving Wonderland Legend to be responsible for funds and markets.
However, Ragnarok claims that the number of milestones has been expanded to 23 due to "delays, errors, and poor management," and the company says all completed milestones have been paid. Moving on from Rune 2's troubled development, the lawsuit showed that Wonderland Legend doesn't know the Bethesda deal.
The company claims that it is difficult to get developers to respond at the end of game development. Ragnarok was told that Human Heads decided to close three business days before the game's release, although no mention of Bethesda's involvement.
Ragnarok said that Rune 2's rights belong to the company, but because it cannot obtain the core assets of the game, it is currently unable to continue the development and post-release support of the DLC, which is said to be part of the initial contract.
The publisher responded to these statements in a forum post, highlighting a commitment to Rune 2.
