Want to get into PC gaming at 1440p without emptying your bank account? Thanks to the 2023 winter sale, a golden offer has appeared on the Boulanger store for a particularly high-performance play tower at a very low price.
Sale: 1440p gaming has never been more affordable
As you know, a gaming PC is expensive, and prices have only increased in recent years. If you don’t have the knowledge to assemble your machine yourself or don’t have the financial means to buy high-end hardware, pre-assembled PCs can be a good solution. Even more so as many brands produce quality towers using premium consumer components while maintaining a lower price point thanks to economies of scale. We therefore avoid PCs that are not very sexy and are filled with OEM components that come from the usual assemblers of the likes of HP, ACER or even Lenovo.
Today the machine we discovered comes to us from the workshops of Medion, a specialized assembler that turns out to be in fact a subsidiary of the Chinese giant Lenovo. The ERAZER Engineer X10 PC seduced us with its attractive equipment but above all with its now competitive price. Originally sold for $1699.99, this computer is currently listed for $1199.99so a savings of at least $500 (more than enough to buy a QHD gaming screen on sale!)

Sale: The PC with RTX 3070, ideal for gaming in 1440p, costs less than 1200 $
It all starts with a bespoke case from Medion that offers a really neat look with its tempered glass side panel and front where LEDs frame the various USB and audio ports in a pretty nice blue light. Delving into the guts of the beast, we find a mini-ATX B660 motherboard housing an Intel Core i7-12700F processor.
This Alder Lake chip has 12 cores (8 pcores and 4 ecores) for a total of 20 threads and frequencies that oscillate between 1.6 GHz and 4.9 GHz in boost mode. Of course, no application should be able to row this machine, and even less when it comes to video games. This chip is supported by 16GB of DDR4 3200MHz memory in the form of two 8GB 3200MHz DIMMs (there are only two slots). Note that this processor also supports DDR5 memory up to 4800MHz and up to 128GB.
In terms of graphics, Medion includes an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070 graphics card with 8GB GDDR6 memory. Coming from PCP (probably an OEM assembler), this graphics card ensures you can play any modern title at 1440p. It is also stated that the RTX 3070 for desktop computers are much more powerful than their mobile counterparts on laptops.
A 1 TB M.2 SSD serves as storage. The good news is that one M.2 slot is always free, making it very easy to increase storage space by adding a new SSD. As in any tower, it will also be possible to use SATA SSDs to lower the bill. Finally, it should be noted that this tower is equipped with a WiFi module and includes a 650 watt power supply that even allows you to swap certain components for more powerful models.
