The opinion of
Izokay
After many hours spent with the next-gen version of FIFA 22 (PS5 Xbox series) and its leaning towards the old generation, the conclusion is there: PC, Xbox One and PS4 gamers will have a version with the shortcomings of the new generation but cut off from its strengths. The Hypermotion technology and its new animations are missing, and we have the uneasy feeling that the gameplay hasn’t changed all that much from year to year, except at the Guardian level. These are a bit more agile and efficient in their excursions, the ball trajectories are also more realistic, but otherwise it’s pretty lackluster for a soccer sim. The FUT mode is running out of steam, the new Volta is struggling to convince, but fortunately the very complete career and new features in Pro Clubs are catching up a bit. We can only advise regulars to step up to the new generation to enjoy kicking the ball again, and newcomers warn that the grass is a little greener on PS5 and Xbox One.
