Samsung is again offering the Galaxy A15 in two variants. In addition to a Galaxy A15 5G, the A15 is also available in an LTE version. This is how the two cell phones differ.
Samsung sold the popular Galaxy A14 in two versions in 2023. In addition to a variant that supports the new 5G mobile communications standard, there was also a model that can only work in the LTE network. The South Korean manufacturer also maintains this practice with the successor Galaxy A15. Below you will find out whether there are any other differences between the devices in addition to the supported mobile phone standards and which smartphone is right for you.
Display
Unlike last year, there are no differences between the two devices in terms of display. Samsung uses AMOLED panels in both devices that are 6.5 inches in size and have a resolution of 2,340 x 1,080 pixels. This results in a pixel density of around 396 ppi for both devices. The refresh rate in both cases is a fast 90 Hertz, and the brightness reaches up to 800 nits.
Performance
Due to the different support for mobile communications standards, Samsung is also installing two different chips in the A15 5G and A15 this year, but their performance is largely the same. The Galaxy A15 is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99, while the Galaxy A15 5G features the MediaTek Dimensity 6100 Plus. The processors here have exactly the same clock speeds, only the GPU of the Galaxy A15 5G is slightly weaker than the 4G model.
Due to this fact, the Galaxy A15 achieves an insignificantly higher result in certain benchmarks. In everyday use, no user will probably notice a difference in performance; when gaming, it will probably be one or two frames per second more. In both cases, the manufacturer installs 8 gigabytes of RAM. Both devices are only available in Germany with 128 GB of memory.
Camera
There are no differences in the camera between the Galaxy A15 and Galaxy A15 5G. Both models come with a main camera with a resolution of 50 megapixels, an ultra-wide-angle camera with 5 megapixels and a macro lens with a resolution of two megapixels. The same camera quality can therefore be expected from both devices.
battery pack
Anyone hoping for a better battery in one of the two models will be disappointed: the two smartphones come with the same battery, which is 5,000 milliamp hours and requires 25 watts to recharge.
Price and availability
Both the Galaxy A15 and the Galaxy A15 5G are now available in Germany. The Galaxy A15 comes in black, blue and yellow and costs 199 dollars. The Galaxy A15 5G comes in the same colors, but Samsung charges 30 dollars more for it at 229 dollars. The small additional charge for future-proof 5G support should be worth it for most users; the prices remain the same compared to last year’s Galaxy A14 (5G) model.
