At this year's CES in Las Vegas, Samsung Electronics is launching Odyssey, a series of new gaming monitors. The displays were designed with the special requirements of gamers in mind.

The new Odyssey series currently includes two models: The G9 appears in 49 inches with an aspect ratio of 32: 9 and offers Dual Quad High Definition (DQHD) with a resolution of 5,120 x 1,440 pixels. The G7 will be available in the sizes 27 inch and 32 inch in 16: 9 format and deliver a Quad High Definition resolution (QHD) of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. The models also come with 240 Hz, a response time of 1ms and for the first time with a radius of 1,000. In addition, the new models will also be NVIDIA G-SYNC compatible and have Adaptive Sync on DisplayPort 1.4.

The G9 is the world's first dual quad high definition (DQHD; 5,120 x 1,440 resolution) gaming monitor with a fast 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, 32: 9 aspect ratio, a 1,000R curvature and a peak brightness of 1,000 cd / m2. The monitor features Quantum Dot technology in combination with an HDR1,000 VA panel to display realistic colors with vivid details.

The combination of all specifications is to minimize possible distractions and ensure smooth screen transitions in critical game moments. The G9 has a new design with a glossy white exterior. The lighting on the back ensures the perfect gaming atmosphere. It reproduces 52 colors and five different lighting effects.

The G7 has the same fast response time and refresh rate that the strongly curved display and overall performance of the G9 deliver – in smaller dimensions of 27 and 32 inches. The Quad High Definition resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels, the 16: 9 aspect ratio and the HDR600 VA panel are complemented by the peak brightness of 600 cd / m2. Here, too, the QLED screen offers an extraordinarily wide range of precise color renditions thanks to quantum dot technology. The G7 has a matte black exterior and a color-changeable backlight that can remain static or be dimmed while playing.
