Samurai Jack makes a brief stop at MultiVersus with Beetlejuice on his way back in time

Beetlejuice, Jack, Multiversus, Samurai, Stop, time

Cartoon Network Fan Favorites Samurai Jack MultiVersus was finally announced, along with that pesky Beetlejuice.

MultiVersus fans have been waiting for Samurai Jack to join the platform fighting game ever since the game was announced, and with a new trailer released at EVO, they finally got their wish. The new trailer shows Samurai Jack in action during the game’s second season, Back in Time, where he is revealed to be a Brawler-class character who will “use his mystical katana blade, nimble footwork, and quick reflexes to send opponents flying across the map.” You won’t have to wait that long to play as him, either, as he’ll be available next week on July 23 – and he’ll also be getting a Justice Warrior Jack skin based on the show’s fifth season, releasing on the same day.

Beetlejuice doesn’t have a release date yet, though it’s expected to arrive before the upcoming sequel Beetlejuice (does writing that three times in a sentence trigger his release?). The movie is set to hit theaters worldwide on September 4 and in the US on September 6, so you can expect to see it in August at the latest. The good news is that you won’t have to wait that long to see ranked mode, as the highly anticipated game mode will be added to the game next week alongside Samurai Jack on July 23. There, you’ll be able to compete in 1v1 and 2v2 matches, where you can earn leaderboard points to help unlock exclusive rank-based cosmetic items.

Finally, season two will feature a new set, a map of the Water Tower, an iconic Warner Bros. location that, judging by the trailer, “unexpectedly pays homage to popular characters and series from Warner Bros. Discovery,” which appears to include Animaniacs.
