Microsoft is one of those companies that just released their latest financial results. And since Microsoft is Xbox, the situation of the American company’s video game industry was mentioned. During the traditional conference call in connection with the announcement of these results, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella spoke about his company’s positioning in relation to video games:
We are totally invested in the video game. The Xbox Series S and X are the fastest-selling consoles in our history, with more consoles sold than any previous generation. So Satya Nadella thinks if we have the first eight months on the Xbox Series X | S market with those of Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Xbox, then it seems that a greater amount of Xbox Series X | S was not sold.

Unfortunately for the curious, the big boss of the Redmond company does not give an exact number. The research company Niko Partners passes on Twitter by its senior analyst Daniel “ZhugeEX“Ahmad, take the risk over an estimate of 6.5 million Xbox Series X | S to speak until the 30th
For comparison, their estimates put the Xbox One 5.7 and the Xbox 360 5 million at a similar level (Note that the Xbox 360 sells better than the Xbox One overall). The demand for the Xbox Series X | S remains strong, especially in North America, and Microsoft improved its console offering over the past quarter.
In general, video game income is up 11% compared to the same period last year. The Xbox content and services business saw sales decline 4% despite an increase in Xbox Game Pass subscriptions and sales of first party games. The reason for this decline was lower sales of third-party games, which were particularly strong a year ago.
However, Xbox hardware sales largely offset this decline with a 172% sales explosion. This sharp increase is evident from maintaining strong demand around the Xbox Series X | S caused. So things are going pretty well on the Xbox side, according to Microsoft. Microsoft’s video game industry should look good to the year with a number of games coming soon, including Halo Infinite later this year.
