The graphic novel “Scott Pilgrim” is slated to come to Netflix as an anime series. The creator of the template, Bryan Lee O’Malley, should also be on board during production to ensure quality.

Fans of Franchise “Scott Pilgrim” have all sorts of reasons to be happy. The idler and bassist of the band Sex Bob-omb, Scott Pilgrim, is returning to your screen: streamer Netflix and the production company Universal Content Production (“The Umbrella Academy”) are working together on a “Scott Pirgrim” anime series, the based on the graphic novel series by creator Bryan Lee O’Malley.
Sources confirmed to that Online magazine deadlinethat O’Malley will write and produce the new series with Ben-David Grabinski (“Are You Afraid of the Dark?”). One So far, however, Netflix and UCP have refused to comment on the project. So the production decision of “Scott Pilgrim” is not officially confirmed.
The animation studio Science SARU (“Space Dandy”, “Devilman Crybaby”) will be responsible for the animation of the series should “Scott Prilgrim” go into production. Science SARU’s Eunyoung Choi (“Japan Sinkt: 2020”) will produce the series and Abel Góngora (“Star Wars: Visions”) will direct it.
That’s what “Scott Pilgrim” is all about
The cult film “Scott Pilgrim against the rest of the world” was filmed in 2010 under the direction of Edgar Wright (“Ant-Man”) and starring Michael Cera. The film adaptation, co-written by Michael Bacall and Wright, takes place in snowy Toronto. The film sticks to the template and follows Scott Pilgrim, who does the seven nasty ex-friends his new girlfriend Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) must defeat.
This is the only way Scott can win her heart and take her on a date. Ramona can travel through subspace and only recently moved to Toronto after breaking up with Gideon Graves. Meanwhile, the 17-year-old student Knives Chau (Ellen Wong) has her eye on Scott.
Scott Pilgrim: Die Graphic Novel
In addition to the plot, Bryan Lee O’Malley was inspired by the Shounen manga when designing his graphic novel. At the turn of the millennium, manga was not widely used as a medium in the United States. The main source he used was “Ranma 1/2” from the well-known mangaka Rumiko Takahashi.
They are also unmistakable Parallels to the medium of video games. Scott and Matthew Patel, who is the first of Ramona’s seven ex-boyfriends to identify themselves, fight a bitter video game-style battle, from which Scott emerges victorious.
