Are you out and about with your mini projector in summer and want to have a pleasant viewing experience when watching films and series? Are you having a garden party and have you bought a mobile projector for it? Or do you only use a mini projector at home for reasons of space? For the best possible picture quality, you should also buy a screen. When choosing, there are a few key differences to consider.
-
canvas type
-
canvas format
-
light output
If you want to use your mini projector on the go, a screen is a good addition. Make sure that the screen can be transported flexibly and set up anywhere. Even if you mainly use your mini projector at home, there will surely come a time when you want to take your projector with you somewhere. We have put together a few buying tips for you.
canvas type
You can choose between mobile and stationary screens for the screen type. It all depends on the different uses. With mini projectors, it makes sense to take the screens with you and set them up anywhere. Therefore, the following types are ideal:
tripod screen
With a tripod screen you get a particularly inexpensive projection surface for your mini projector, which is practical for occasional use. Even if you place the screen on an uneven place, such as a campsite, it will stand securely. So you don’t have to worry about it falling over during use.
Other advantages: The tripod screens can be set up and taken down very quickly. So you don’t have to tinker with it for a long time to watch a movie in the evening. The integrated keystone brackets on the back provide a better grip. In addition, the image area can be flexibly adjusted. Practical for different uses.
folding frame canvas
Folding frame screens are particularly suitable for outdoor events. If your mini projector can display content on a screen of up to 200 centimeters, this option is the right choice for you.
Depending on the model, folding frame screens have a very robust housing and a durable steel construction. As the name suggests, the frame is foldable and can therefore be set up and used quickly and easily. You don’t need any tools to set up an inflatable outdoor screen.
table screen
A table screen can be set up and used with just one movement. It impresses with its mobility and low weight. You can flexibly take the table screen with you and use it with your mini projector.
A disadvantage: A large audience is not possible with a table screen, so it is only advisable to use the mini projector with 1 to 2 people. In addition, the table screen, as the name suggests, cannot be used everywhere. You need a flat surface like a table to set up the screen properly.
canvas format
Most old screens offer a standard 1:1 square aspect ratio as they were designed for overhead projectors. In order to hold presentations for work or university via a mini projector, you should use a screen with a format of 4:3 or, as is possible with some business projectors, a format of 16:10.
An aspect ratio of 16:9 is ideal for playing films, series and videos. You will find this format especially in home cinema projectors. If you decide on a suitable screen format, first pay attention to the possibilities of your projector model.
light output
The light output of projectors should be around 2,000 ANSI lumens with a projection surface of 100 inches so that you can see content optimally even in daylight.
