After a development full of pitfalls, Ubisoft’s free-to-play FPS XDefiant finally proved to be a success and hopes to continue its momentum by revealing the content of its first season.
Since its release on May 21 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series, the free-to-play XDefiant has managed to find a place in the impressive jungle of multi-FPS. Ubisoft hopes to build on the success of its launch by revealing what awaits players in its first season, scheduled for July 2. On the agenda: a new playable faction, new maps and a new game mode, among others.
XDefiant passes the second with its first season
In addition to Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Star Wars Outlaws, Ubisoft Forward 2024 was above all an opportunity to find out what there is to do with the free FPS XDefiant, whose first season will be released on July 2. This and the next ones were also the subject of a leak long before the French giant’s conference at the Summer Game Fest 2024. As for the first season, these were therefore only recently revealed.
The free-to-play FPS will therefore welcome a new faction next month: the GSK, taken from Rainbow Six Siege and with their own unique skills that will make them formidable opponents. Three new free weapons will also be added to the players’ arsenal. We can usher in all this with three new, particularly colorful and varied maps: Clubhouse, Daytona and Rockefeller.
XDefiant will finally welcome a well-known multi-FPS mode as part of its first season: Capture the Flag. This was also the subject of a leak before the official announcement. A fairly complete program therefore awaits the free-to-play game from Ubisoft, which will continue with three more seasons in the current year.
