Season 2 of Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 is finally here, bringing with it new game modes, a new map, and new weapons. However, the community does not agree on whether the update is a successful extension or a dip in the toilet.

Split opinion
The well-known CoD insider and content creator ModernWarzone asked his followers whether the new season was more of a win (W) or a lose (L). With 64 percent satisfied fans, a relatively positive picture emerges here. Especially since over 55,000 users have already voted:

On Steam, players are a little less satisfied: On the release date of the second season, February 15th, the game received 493 positive and 457 negative reviews. In the previous reviews of February 16, the negative opinions are even slightly higher.
Of course, it must be noted that these are only the first impressions. Season 2 has just been released, a lot has to be seen in the long term – but the opinions so far are still interesting.
That’s what the pros say
The new map Ashika Island is currently receiving the most praise. However, even with the small map, ModernWarzone recognizes the ongoing criticism of Warzone 2:
Ashika Island is fun, but it still feels like being forced into a slow playstyle in order to win. Not really what previous Rebirth Island players want to hear, but that’s my experience after the first two hours. Play hyper aggressive = dead.
By the way, in his opinion, the new shotgun is extremely strong, you can see a small gameplay excerpt here:

Also the well-known influencer JGOD has a lot of fun with Ashika Island, but still complains about the short TTK (Time to Kill). However, he is pleased that no AI opponents made it onto the map at launch.
Content Creator KRNG Espresso also enjoy the new map:
I really enjoyed Ashika Island (Resrugence) in my matches today. The pacing felt good for the first few laps without the movement metas. I rocked most games. I look forward to more.
But he also notes that he feels fortunate to be able to get away with it without constant crashes — unlike many others. This is also one of the biggest points of criticism from other players.
Still technical problems
Writes on Twitter Excellencethat he doesn’t even get to play because the title keeps crashing on him. Steam users too purgatxrial criticized something similar in a review:
Season 2 crashes more than drunk drivers. It gets worse with every update, would like my money back.
User Trantor is dissatisfied with the little content:
The update just brings a new map and game modes nobody wanted. How about increasing the player count of 4 player DMZ? It’s the only good game mode. Sad.
Twitter-User Gilly sees as many positive as negative points in Season 2:
I can’t decide between a win or a lose because I’m in the middle. The looting is still clunky, it’s really hard to tell what’s on the bottom. Resurgence shouldn’t have backpacks. It is not necessary as it is a significantly faster game mode. Also, we really need pings on the minimap.
This is how it goes on: According to a reliable insider, Modern Warfare 2 is not supposed to follow a two-year plan after all. You can read the rumors about CoD for 2023, 2024 and 2025 here:
