One of the films that Marvel Studios hopes to surprise with next year is Thunderbolts. Far from multiverse stories, this installment promises to bring a group of antiheroes into action, with Bucky Barnes as a prominent figure, who, after the first trailer, seems to be a real challenge for this unique team.
Sebastian Stan, who plays the Winter Soldier in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, spoke about this in an interview with GamesRadar+. Throughout the conversation, the actor commented on Bucky’s evolution in the next film and how it will affect his future in the Marvel universe:
“I never would have thought we’d end up where we ended up with him, but it’s a very interesting group of characters, and they all bring out different sides of themselves. I think [Bucky] He’s much more suited to them than he might initially want to admit, but he’s always an evolving character, and that’s what I love about him. He is always trying to find another way to express himself. I think it will be fun. “I think people will be excited about the movie.”
As Stan explains, although Bucky initially seems not to share the same attitude as the rest of the team, he actually adapts quite well to the group of antiheroes. It seems that, after the period of peace he enjoyed at the end of Falcon and the Winter Soldierthe character returns to action, but with a more somber and aggressive style.
And Bucky seems to have returned and with a style much more similar to that of his most evil version, since he uses high-powered weapons as if it were nothing and advocates violence in the slightest situation in which he feels cornered. Thunderbolts* will hit theaters around the world on May 2, 2025.
