news culture Secret Invasion: Are the first returnees of the new Marvel series here, a future hit for Disney Plus?
As you can imagine, Marvel is far from saying its last word and its next project is none other than Secret Invasion, a series for Disney Plus. The first returns are in and obviously the press looks pretty convinced.
The hour of glory for Samuel L. Jackson
The Marvel Cinematic Universe was created about fifteen years ago (yes, yes) and some of its strong characters are still on screen today, despite the post-Avengers Endgame casting upheaval: by and large we can quote Samuel L. Jackson in his iconic Nick Fury character, present since the early days of the MCU.
A face that is extremely symbolic, but which has never had its own film: soon it will be time and for once It will be a television series called Secret Invasion exclusive to Disney Plus.
The plot will pick up elements (and characters) introduced in Captain Marvel: Nick Fury will return to duty to fight against the Skull invasion. an alien race capable of transforming into anyone and determined to stealthily seize power.
A powerful action and sci-fi thriller that will also give more prominence to Maria Hill (directed by Cobie Smulders). while noting the first-ever appearance of Emilia Clarke (Daenerys in Game of Thrones) in the MCU.
The first feedback is here!
Secret Invasion consists of six episodes and will ship the first of them on June 21st on the VOD platformor in just a few days for a weekly broadcast. However, those curious will be pleased to know that the American and English-language press had a chance to see the first two episodes, which incidentally got the first reviews.
So, Secret Invasion, what’s the point? Here is a small anthology of the first returns:
“Samuel L. Jackson’s Greatest Marvel Project Ever” – TV line
“In Jackson’s best performance yet as Fury, the actor brings a new level of pathos and solemnity to this comic role that should make him a legitimate favorite.” in each award category “Best Leading Actor”. the coming months.” – Comic Book Movie
One of the MCU’s most mature projects to date, Secret Invasion is a gripping, suspenseful drama that provides deep substance for its cast and encourages its audience to look beyond the brilliance of superheroism. – Rich
“Director Ali Selim does a great job of bringing an old-school sensibility to the series, stylizing Secret Invasion as a classic conspiracy thriller, albeit with aliens.” – Screen rant
Rather positive reviews, but there are also less good oneswhich justifies the current score of 67% on Rotten Tomatoes:
“I miss the Nick Fury before the blip. He is cold. He’s humorless. He’s almost superheroless. Secret Invasion is not the powerful Marvel TV series I was hoping would usher in Stage V.” -Raising Whasians
“Secret Invasion has a compelling concept and some truly incredible performances for an all-encompassing MCU series, but its writing and direction are a bit lackluster. It’s the kind of serious series that Marvel fans were hoping for five years ago. , but that might be the case now.” put some viewers to sleep. – decision maker
See you on June 21st to make up your own mind on Disney Plus!
