Sega Has admitted that it vaguely reveals a new Sonic the Hedgehog In a new interview, the game originally scheduled to launch in 2022 was “a bit too early.”
As early as May, Sega announced that it is developing a new Sonic the Hedgehog game, which will be released in 2022. Regarding the content of this new game, there are no details at all, and our only trailer so far is because the feature of the game is Sonic Running… There is nothing else but an unexplainable flashing symbol in the trailer.
In an interview with 4Gamer (via Nintendo Enthusiast), Takashi Iizuka, the head of Sonic Team, stated that the company wanted to disclose information about the game, but admitted that it provided very little content.
“Since Sonic Forces, we haven’t announced a new action game for the Sonic series, which worries fans,” Iizuka said in an interview. “Although it is too early, but I want to announce at least the 30th anniversary that a brand new game is in development.”
Regarding the mysterious symbol, he said:
“This is a symbolic thing that appears in the game, but its meaning is still a secret. However, I will say that this cannot be solved by deduction. We will eventually share more details, so please wait a while.”
You can view the initial trailer at the end of the video embedded above.
In the development of Sonic Team, upcoming games will be launched on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S in 2022. No other information about this game is known.
At least we launched Sonic Colors Ultimate in September this year, and then we will launch a collection of games Sonic Origins next year. There are also 24 episodes of the animated series Sonic Prime, which will land on Netflix in 2022.
