Sega has just thrown down the gauntlet at The Game Awards, announcing five new games at the same time. These include all-new sequels to Golden Ax, Crazy Taxi, Ninjago, Streets of Rage and Het Set Radio. Wow.
These are all part of a sudden and frankly unexpected reveal for a franchise that most thought was dead or at least on the back burner. Not only that, but there are apparently more games coming as part of the retro reboot series that we haven’t showcased yet.
Sega has been releasing some popular new games for a while now. Mainly Persona, Yakuza, Sonic and Football Manager. Although at The Game Awards they also released a trailer for Metaphor: ReFantazio. 2024 looks absolutely fantastic. It’s been an absolute blast for the publisher so far.

There’s no word yet on the length or scope of these new games. It would make sense if they were part of a general collection of smaller titles, but again, there’s no official word as of writing. We will update this article if we get any news on what this will look like. Now they are under development and you can sign up for the newsletter through the official Next Level website.
What do you think of this trailer? A blast from the past, right? Let us know below!
