Attention PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium members, several excellent games will be deleted soon. Last chance to take advantage of them before they leave the catalog.
The new PS Plus Extra games for August 2024 will soon be available. Sony announced their identity earlier this week and suffice it to say that we are in for a very strong month. Subscribers will also be able to (re)discover the excellent The Witcher 3 or one of the best RPGs of the last decade. It will of course be accompanied by around ten other games, including the latest episodes of the Sword Art Online saga, which are clearly in the spotlight. New additions that will largely help to compensate for the departures from the catalog, which are more numerous than initially planned.
PS Plus Extra departures from August 2024
All good things must come to an end, including PlayStation Plus Extra and premium games. Like its rival, or PS Now at the time, the service’s new formulas clean up its catalog every month. Originally, it was planned to release only five games this month, but Sony has since revamped its copy and doubled the number. Unfortunately, in the crowd we find some excellent titles. Starting with Sea of Stars, the already essential RPG from the creators of The Messengers, which perfectly combines nostalgia and modernity. In terms of RPGs, it’s also a good place to do your homework before the release of Visions of Mana, the previous canonical episode that will also leave PS Plus Extra in a few days.
In other genres, Lost Lost Judgement, the acclaimed Yakuza spin-off, will also be leaving the catalog, as will the beat’em all Midnight Fight Express and the excellent party game Moving Out 2. So you have until 11am on August 20, 2024 before everyone leaves PS Plus Extra and Premium. Here is the full departure list with the time needed to complete the games or platinum them for the bravest:

The arrival of PS Plus Extra and Premium
As we said, all these departures will of course be accompanied by arrivals. PS Plus Extra and Premium members will be able to discover around ten new games, unfortunately a little less varied than the previous titles. Sony will focus mainly on the Sword Art Online license, which will not be for everyone, however. Several good productions correct the situation, in particular the excellent Cult of the Lamb, one of the must-sees of this month.
