Shared-world survival game Nightingale from ex-Bioware employee gets new trailer

Inflexion Games releases new trailer nightingale During today’s 2022 Summer Games Festival showcase.

Announced last year, today we get a better look at the shared-world survival crafting game set in a rich Victorian gaslight fantasy setting – specifically Realm Cards.

The game finds you trapped outside your world, cut off by the sudden collapse of a mysterious network of portals. This catastrophic event leaves you and many others fighting for survival in a mysterious and dangerous realm.

You’ll need to travel through Faewild forests, swamps, deserts, and jungles as you unlock portals deeper into the Fae lands. You’ll encounter abandoned ruins from past Realmwalker expeditions, investigate mysterious Fae buildings, and scout the ruins.

You’ll cook, build shelter, and find the spirit to persevere in the face of constant adversity. You can craft crafting tools to harvest trees, ores, and plants, as well as rarer resources. Discovering schematics will help you assemble the equipment and weapons you need to survive. Using specialized ingredients and arcane techniques, you can also enhance your gear with magical properties.

Weapons are a must to craft as you will encounter creatures in the portal network. Not only will you have to fend off an invasion of Fae mimics known as Bounds, but you’ll also need to team up with other players against large, top-tier creatures that roam the realms.

The game allows you to design and build a manor from various styles and tile sets. You can upgrade and customize your structures and form communities to live on the land. You can even recruit NPC workers to help expand your homestead, increase production, and assist in gathering resources.

Interestingly, you’ll use a set of procedurally generated realm cards that shape the next realm you’ll head to. While each realm presents new dangers, discoveries, and surprises, you can influence factors such as the environment, the number of enemies you touch, the amount of resources, and more.

You can venture alone or team up with others, combining your strengths, skills and resources to survive and thrive. As a group, you can also build a public manor, jointly uncover the mysteries of the worlds, and unite against the goblins.
