Shawn Layden was the president of Worldwide Studios for several years, making the PlayStation 4 generation have a strong catalog of first party games. He recently left his post and disengaged from Sony, but has left his legacy in the company and one of his biggest milestones is also one of the most recent. In August and by surprise from around the world, Sony announced the purchase of Insomniac Games, which until now had acted as a second party, working in exclusive orders, but remaining independent of any company.
During all these years Insomniac Games has worked in multiple PlayStation exclusives such as the Ratchet and Clank, Resistance or recently Marvel's Spider-Man saga, but has also collaborated on Xbox One titles such as Sunset Overdrive or has ventured to cross-platform development.
In any case, his talent is a fact, so after the success that was Marvel's Spider-Man and the fact that Microsoft was reinforcing its First Party cast with studios like Ninja Theory or Obsidian, Sony took a step forward and made with Insomniac. Shawn Layden believes that was one of Sony's greatest hits and yours, obviously.
Seems a lifetime ago. Yet one of the greatest achievements I was fortunate to associate myself with at PlayStation. So good, so right. Continue to greatness you crazy Insomniacs! Fun fact: in the biz this swag is called a "tombstone". Natch pic.twitter.com/4ajnYFLPsg

«It seems that it was a lifetime ago. However, one of the greatest achievements with which I was fortunate to partner in PlayStation. So good, so right. Keep up the greatness, crazy Insomniacs! Fun fact: in the business world this award is called «gravestone». Wow, says Shawn, showing a memory commemorating the purchase of the studio.
