Wish for the worst
Amazon Prime Video has suffered a hard blow with the release of the fourth season of The boys last June. It was an opportunity for viewers to meet new characters like the outstanding Joe Kessler, played by Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan in The Walking Dead), the intelligent sister Sage, played by Susan Heyward, or the hated firecracker, played by Valorie Curry. And in this casting, one of them has really caught the attention of fans: Firecracker. Anyone who has seen the last season knows that this heroine is notoriously homophobic, transphobic and conspiratorial, everything is designed so that she is hated by everyone and her interpreter does not carry her in his heart either. During an interview with the Hollywood Reporter at the last Comic-Con, the actress revealed that she wanted her character to die in the next season of “The Boys.”

I hope she dies. She’s awful. I hope it’s not the drugs, because that would be too easy.
Firecracker joined the group Seven in the final season of Eric Kripke’s show along with Sister Sage. His character is politically divisive and is not afraid to voice extremist and hateful opinions about absolutely anything and everything. Especially since the superheroine in no way resembles her interpreter, who identifies as a lesbian. Obviously, Valorie Curry should have been repulsed by the idea of playing a character that is at odds with her ideals, and yet she told the same media that she was happy to be able to play the role of such a despicable person.
The boys are inspired by true events
The actress had expressed her admiration for the work of Eric Kripke, the showrunner of the series. Valorie Curry said: “The show mocks so many cultural events, be it #MeToo or the Republican Party“, she admitted that her character could share conspiracies that were sometimes too crazy to be taken seriously. In fact, the actress asked the director for explanations for some of her lines, who replied: “It is actually a quote from a politician“. Despite Firecracker’s despicable character, Curry does not neglect his character’s humanity, saying: “As an actress, our job is not to judge our characters“, revealing the childhood traumas of the superheroine who believes she has been marginalized.
