Publisher 2P Games and developer NEKCOM Games have announced the Action-RPG Showa American Story coming to PS5, PS4 and PC.

A post-apocalyptic Action-RPG Showa American Story was announced coming to Playstation 5, Playstation 4 and PC. Developed by NEKCOM Games and being published by 2P Games. The title is set in an alternative world where Showa 66 has bought out most of the US with its strong economic standing. With a number of people now having emigrated from Japan to the US, Japanese culture is now prevalent in America.
A mysterious event changes the world drastically, going with it, its social order. A teenage girl Choko rises from the dead under mysterious circumstances, to a world now overrun with zombies, monsters and human survivors all with different backgrounds and beliefs. Exactly what happened to the world will begin to become clear as she adventures across America. The title is 80s pop culture-inspired, so expect some reminiscence of this era while exploring stories from people and survivors’ backgrounds. The trailer shows some of the scenery including “Neo Yokohama” which has replaced the Hollywood sign, and a mixture of American-Japanese adverts around different cities.
Combat is described as fast-paced, with a “free-flowing combat style”. Players will take on hordes of zombies as well as monsters by attacking and dodging, facing a number of different combat situations. “Get ready to dive into the ocean of ketchup!” which just sounds as gory as they come. Choose melee, ranged and some “strange weapons”, which sounds intriguing. Choko will also have access to a customisable and upgradeable RV. Unlock new weapons, costumes, collectibles, EXPs, and mini-games as well.
The game looks like a lot of fun from the trailer, a mixture of hack ‘n’ slash combat as well as some interesting abilities which looks sort of DMC styled, along with the motorbike mowing down enemies.

Showa American Story will release on Playstation 5, Playstation 4 and PC, no release window has been announced as of yet.
