Hunt: Showdown 1896: New name, new map – The August update will be huge
What can the new map do?
Since Mammon’s Gulch is located in a completely different region of the USA than the swamps of Louisiana that we are used to, we can expect a completely different environment: Instead of miles of flat grassland, we can expect steep cliffs and stark differences in altitude between the different areas of the map.
According to the developers, the Verticality something that players have always wanted in Hunt: Showdown. The vegetation is also new: instead of the deciduous trees we are used to, we roam among dense coniferous trees in Colorado for the first time.
In addition to verticality, the developers have another gameplay trick up their sleeve: The mine shafts connect the compounds on the map. So you can not only attack above ground – but also from below.
But the mines also come with new sound traps. For example, you can startle a swarm of sleeping bats.
New boss
On the new map, you will find not only the familiar boss enemies, but also a completely new monster: As the trailer for the Scorched Earth event (which starts at the same time as the new map) reveals, a fiery new opponent awaits us:
