Sid Meier’s Civilization VII: System requirements for PC are here – do you need to go shopping?

Civilization, Meiers, Requirements, Shopping, SID, System, VII

Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is getting closer and we now know the system requirements of the PC version before its release in February – so there’s enough time to get your home computer up to speed.

February is going to be one hell of a month. There are so many time wasters that you could actually use the whole of March as a vacation month. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Monster Hunter Wilds… oh, and of course Sid Meier’s Civilization VII, whose “just one more round” will probably give us long nights again.

So that we can enjoy these nights (and maybe a few of the other games), Firaxis has now published the system requirements for the PC version of Civ VII. So there’s enough time to take Black Friday & Co. with you and, if necessary, pimp up your home PC. After all, there are a few points listed where some players certainly need to improve.

The minimum requirements (1080p30, low settings) sound moderate. An older computing machine with an i3-10100 or Ryzen 3 1200 with GTX 1050 or Radeon RX 460 with 8GB RAM should be sufficient. If you want something a little nicer with 1080p60 and medium settings, you need an RTX 2060 or Radeon RX 6600 and 16GB of RAM.

With ultra display in 4K with high settings and 60 fps, it costs a bit more money. The recommended processor is i7-14700F or Ryzen 9 5950X. The graphics card can then be a GeForce RTX 4070 or a Radeon RX 7800 XT. And there should also be 32GB in the RAM slots.

What they all have in common is the requirement for an SSD with a moderate 20GB of storage space. Here too, the topic of HDDs now seems to be finally off the table for gaming. Another good news is that Civ VII will also run on MacOS and SteamOS.
