Rainbow Six: victories and end times – do they go together? Find out with the new Apocalypse event. In this it is important to fight in the distant future for the last plant in the world, which is to save humanity.
Rainbow Six: Siege jumps into the end times
With the Apocalypse event, Ubisoft’s tactical shooter leaves the contemporary scenariothat fans have known since the release in late 2015 and leaps into the future. The earth is devastated and gangs heat their armored vehicles through the desert to find the last raw materials.
But a plant was discovered in an old reactor probably the last plant on the once blue planet
However, two warring groups want to find the plant in order to implement their vision of the future of the world. You decide in the Apocalypse event of Rainbow Six: Siege, whether you on the side of the keepers (defenders) or the warband (attackers) stands.
The event started today, May 4th and lets you until May 18th fight for the future of the world. Not only is the post-apocalyptic scenario new.

Rainbow Six Siege does one on Mad Max in the Apocalypse trailer
Apoclaypse brings a new game mechanic
The game is played on the well-known Outback map, which has been redesigned for the event. It is now reminiscent of the dry deserts of the Mad Max films. There you have to get the plant into your possession.
The scenario is based on the regular game mode »bomb«. The difference: instead of a bomb, you fight over the plant. The Keepers try to protect the canister until the time runs out, while the Warband wants to get their hands on it and “defuse” it. To do this, the attackers use a scanner that tells them whether there are opponents in the room.
Another new feature is that players can move the canister around and carry it around. In the “bomb” mode, on the other hand, there were stationary locations for the explosive device. This together with the scanner leads to new and exciting tactics in Rainbow Six: Siege.
Items and skins as well as uniforms that match the apocalypse event’s end-time scenario are new. You can get these in bundles in the shop for 1,680 R6 credits or via the Apocalypse Packs for 300 R6 credits or 12,500 reputation.
Beyond that, you only access one limited selection of operators back.
For the Keepers these are:
- Maestro
- Melusi
- Rook
- Smoke
- Valkyrie
The warband can go into battle with these operators:
- Fuze
- Gridlock
- Maverick
- Nomad
- Twitch
After the end of the Apocalypse event, Rainbow Six Parasite will be jumping into space in the future:

Are Rainbow Six: Siege and Far Cry: New Dawn related?
Fans of Ubisoft’s shooters Rainbow Six: Siege and Far Cry noticed something in the trailer for the Apocalypse event: The facility in which the last plant is being fought is called “Eden” and reminiscent of »New Eden« from the end-of-time shooter Far Cry: New Dawn.

If a real connection between the games exists is rather questionable. It seems to be much more of a little Easter egg for Far Cry fans.
What do you think of the Rainbow Six Apocalypse event: Siege? Does such an end-of-time scenario fit the tactical shooter?
