Bloober Team’s highly anticipated remake of Silent Hill 2 finally has a release date. In addition, plenty of gameplay was shown last night.
Last night, both the May edition of PlayStation State of Play and Silent Hill Transmission were broadcast – and that brought with it the long-awaited news and impressions of Silent Hill 2. The remake from the horror experts at Bloober Team has finally received a release date, but as expected, it will be this fall.
Anyone who wants to get the remake of the survival horror classic and presumably best part of the series will be able to get the game for the PlayStation 5 from October 8, 2024, as publisher Konami confirmed together with the developer and Sony. This means that the completely revised new edition will be released just over 23 years after the original, as the original Silent Hill 2 was released on September 24, 2001.
At the State of Play, a short new trailer was presented, which gave an insight into the environment, James and Angela, as well as a few fight scenes. Some monsters from Silent Hill can also be seen, including the iconic sisters – only the Pyramid Head was still nowhere to be found in the trailer.
With the announcement of the release date, pre-orders will also start. You can choose between different editions, which then go beyond the standard edition. An overview of the variants you can choose from was posted via PlayStation Blog released after the State of Play and you can watch it below:
In the course of the following Silent Hill Transmission, Konami then provided a more detailed gameplay insight. You can watch the 13-minute video with numerous gameplay scenes below and it gives a pretty good impression of what we can expect in the Silent Hill 2 remake from Bloober Team.
