The horror remake Silent Hill 2 has recently been available – and it obviously performs excellently compared to the already successful original.
Bloober Team released the remake of Silent Hill 2 earlier this month, giving one of the best survival horror games of all time a comeback. This step has apparently paid off, as interest in the game appears to be high.
It has now been announced that the remake is selling faster and better than the original in the same period of time. As a reminder, this was released in 2001 for the PlayStation 2.
According to Bloober Team, the remake broke the one million copy mark within three days of its release. For comparison, the original Silent Hill 2 took an entire month to reach this milestone.
There have been repeated updates to the franchise as a whole over the years: all games in the series together sold around 6.9 million copies by 2009, and the 9 million sales mark was reached by 2015. The fact that things didn’t look any better is due to the offshoots such as Origins, Shattered Memories, Homecoming and Downpour that fell short of expectations.
To date, the original Silent Hill 2 is the best-selling installment in the series. If the remake maintains the previous pace, then it should probably outperform the original game.
