While this is just “early development footage,” Bokeh Game Studio has given us a sneak peek at the upcoming action-horror game’s gameplay Cutter head.
“Slitterhead” is the latest work launched in 2021 by “Silent Hill” creator Keiichiro Toyama. But we haven’t seen anything since it was announced, though developer Bokeh Game Studio has been uploading various behind-the-scenes videos on its YouTube channel for the past two years. Its latest video is all about user testing, in which we get a look at what the gameplay might look like – and most importantly, it shows you can play as multiple characters, including a dog.
Most of the gameplay footage is recorded from the screen, all of which are very brief. Unlike the “Silent Hill” series, the “Silent Hill” series doesn’t have a lot of action scenes, and “Split Head” seems to be more action scenes, because one of the characters has what looks like a big claw on his hand, just Like Wolverine in the X-Men. Another character wears a long black coat and uses a more Silent Hill-like gory pole to fight off some sort of parasitic-looking enemy that whips you around with an uncomfortably long tongue.
Project manager Takuro Konno said that “the game contains some unique mechanics,” but he didn’t elaborate on what those mechanics were. “In the tests we’ve done so far, the majority of players say these are the best features. That means we have a lot of confidence in these features.” He may be talking about playing as a dog, which seems capable of sniffing out certain scents.
Slitterhead doesn’t yet have a release date, nor has it been fully confirmed which platforms it will land on. A 2020 interview did state that a PC release is planned, and that Bokeh aims to “release on as many console platforms as possible,” so we can expect it to launch on at least Xbox and PlayStation.
