Comeback, Games, Hill, Horror, Rumor, Silent

Alongside Resident Evil, Silent Hill is certainly one of the best-known survival horror series in the video game industry. After the cancellation of the Kojima project a few years ago it was quiet for a long time, but according to a new rumor, Konami has long been working on a comeback behind the scenes.

The Silent Hill series is certainly one of the most iconic horror series in the video game area, but stayed away from the current console generation around PS4 and Xbox One after the termination of the Kojima project including walking dead star Norman Reedus. Now fans can possibly look forward to a return of the cult brand – at least if they want to believe a new rumor.

The TwitterUsers AestheticGamer now claims that Konami wants to breathe new life into the franchise with two titles. The studio had already been looking for suitable developers for this in 2017.

One of the two new titles should act as the next part of the main series and represent a kind of "soft reboot". The second project is said to be more comparable to previous Telltale titles or Until Dawn, so it could also contain some enhanced RPG elements and possibly appear in episode format.

The Leaker at least expresses the suspicion that a performance could take place this year, but apart from that, the alleged leak cannot be verified at the moment. As is usual with such rumors, a source is also not mentioned. In this respect, you should strictly classify the message as a rumor until Konami makes an official statement.

Recently, rumors about the franchise generally increased. Only in December was it speculated that Hideo Kojima would be in talks with Konami again in order to complete his once-busy Silent Hills.

After all, the new rumor would also fit Konami's approach when there were publications about Silent Hill. In 2012, two games were launched: a traditional survival horror game and an experimental RPG-style game. Konami had only renewed trademarks around Silent Hill in 2019.
