First discovered by Gematsu, it appears that the Silent Hill title – Silent Hill: Short Message – has been rated in Korea. Konami hasn’t announced this specific game, nor has it specified any platforms.
Considering that many of the recent leaks were allegedly related to a Silent Hill 2 remake or some sort of playable trailer for the mainline installment, this rating came out rather unexpectedly.
The Korean Game Ratings and Governance Council, which Gematsu found for rating information, listed Silent Hill: Short Messages’ publisher as UNIANA.
Now, look at UNIANA’s performance and you’ll see that it is one of the largest arcade game makers in Korea. However, that’s not all the publisher does, it also has a history of developing various fighting, arcade and MMORPG games. In addition, UNIANA also regularly releases Konami arcade and console games.
I highly doubt we’ll see a Silent Hill MMORPG coming to PC anytime soon, because we all know how that will be…but it does hint that Silent Hill might eventually come.
There are already fans in Gematsu’s comments that this is a smaller Silent Hill game, perhaps a playable trailer or mobile game, rather than a full-fledged mainline game. And, I mean, given the subtitle “Short Message,” it’s easy to believe. However, only time will tell Silent Hill: What exactly is text messaging…we hope so!
