Due to a statement made at The Game Awards, there was recently renewed speculation about a comeback for Silent Hill, but Guillermo del Toro, who was responsible for this, took the wind out of the sails.
Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro once worked with mastermind Hideo Kojima on a sequel to the Silent Hill series, but this never manifested itself at school. He made an appearance at the Game Awards recently, but came back to exactly that. Fans therefore hoped for a comeback of Silent Hills, in which Walking Dead and Death Stranding star Norman Reedus would play a leading role. In this respect, however, these hopes can be buried again for the time being.
Opposite to Happy Sad Confused said del Toro now in a new podcast edition to his made statement. He wants this to be understood rather as a general frustration that Konami Silent Hills had discontinued his time.
“I wanted [mit meiner Aussage] Tickling Konami on the ribs because I just don’t understand. It was just so perfect, what we would have done was so captivating, “says del Toro with conviction about the discontinued project. However, he subsequently confirmed that he had not actually worked on a new Silent Hill project since then. He even goes a step further and reiterates that he is not even working on a video game because it appears that all titles in which he is involved are being discontinued.
In this respect, del Toro also refers to Insanity, a game project that he helped develop as part of a collaboration with Saints Row developer Volition before it was crushed in 2012.
