The once so controversial and controversial war shooter Six Days in Fallujah had recently disappeared into oblivion. Now, however, the action game is returning to the scene with an Early Access launch date.
Controversial shooter Six Days in Fallujah is back after months of quiet around the once controversial title. Now Victura and Highwire Games have reported back with a start date for the game – at least as far as Early Access is concerned.
The tactical first-person shooter should therefore be available in a few weeks from June 22, 2023 via Steam Early Access for the PC. At launch of this pre-release, there are four-player cooperative gameplay missions. The individual orders play on randomly generated urban maps, so they are structured differently from round to round. As a result, the shooter’s fights should offer a certain degree of uncertainty and at the same time be characterized by a high level of replayability.
According to the creators, the highly realistic first-person shooter with tactical elements was developed with the help of more than 100 marines and soldiers who were at the scene of the second Battle of Fallujah. More than two dozen Iraqi citizens and soldiers also shared their experiences from the armed conflict. In this respect, the shooter is based on true stories: you have to master real-world scenarios with real military tactics and procedures.
The architecture is not only randomly redesigned outside, but also inside the city buildings in each round. Thanks to Global Dynamic Lighting, real weather and lighting effects are also dynamically simulated.
The Early Access version initially focuses on the experiences of the US Marines on the first day of the Fallujah battle. Players can play as American or Iraqi soldiers, with civilians encountered throughout the game. Going forward, developer Victura plans to release additional cooperative missions and story campaign missions that recreate real stories from the Second Battle of Fallujah. This began in November 2004 after al-Qaeda took control of the city.
The full version is expected to be released in 2024 for PC and consoles.
