Episode 5 of Skate developer Full Circle’s The Board Room revealed some character customization and cosmetics for the upcoming game.
Commonly known as Skate 4, the reboot is the first in the nearly 15-year-old series and includes a host of new and returning product partners to help you achieve the perfect skater look.
A personal highlight is the legendary Vans Old Skools, which I definitely love – unless, of course, the supremely superior loafers are also included.

The demo delved into what players can expect from Skate’s character creator, including a wider range of heights and body types than in previous games. While the assets on display are labeled “pre-pre-alpha,” Full Circle says their art style aims to “achieve the sweet spot between realism and stylization,” rather than pure photorealism .
Fashion has always been an important part of the skateboarding experience, and the new skateboard will also feature a range of authentic skateboards, shirts, pants, headwear, eyewear, footwear and socks from well-known brands such as Vans, Chocolate, Girl and Dime. and clothing designed in-house.
However, since this is an EA game, there is always the question of what is available in the game and what are the additional microtransactions. Full Circle has previously said that Skate won’t offer paid loot boxes, but it does have “earned currency and premium currency.”
Apparently, you’ll be able to unlock new cosmetics with both currencies, but there’s no word yet on whether there will be premium exclusive outfits.
Full Circle said: “We’re committed to making sure your time spent in St. Feinsterdam always feels worthwhile and that you’re able to get great items whether you choose to purchase premium currency or not.”
At the end of the episode, Full Circle also revealed that new apparel and styles will be added to Skate upon release, as well as new brand events and gaming opportunities.
Skate doesn’t have a firm release date, but signing up as a Skate Insider will make you a possible playtester, with console playtests “coming later this year.”
