Season 1 Skull and Bones The event kicks off on February 27th and will run for 12 weeks, as will other events, during which time you can expect plenty of opportunities for high seas pirate shenanigans.
The first season, titled “The Frenzy,” introduced legendary pirate battles, the first of which was Philippe Lapest. As the main villain of the season, Rapest will send his ships on attack, with each conflict with his fleet increasing in difficulty, culminating in the season-ending boss fight with Rapest.
During your adventure in the Indian Ocean, you will encounter sea monsters. The first season stars Tyrannosaurus rex, a predatory marine reptile from the late Cretaceous period. How it survived the golden age of piracy is anyone’s guess, but we already know.
The season will also offer looting opportunities, by capturing manufacturers to make them work for you, and eventually establishing your own trade routes. To capture the Manufacturer, you must participate in a Hostile Takeover (PvPvE) or a Legendary Heist (Co-op PvE with PvP threats). These are world events that must be completed within a set time as they are temporary opportunities offered regularly throughout the day.
You can also get a battle pass, although most seasonal games are free.
In year one, each season will find you encountering additional legendary pirate lords, participating in three seasonal events, encountering more sea monsters, enjoying two unannounced major features, and finding new takeover machines. Yes, and get new seasonal rewards.
Skull and Bones releases on February 16th and is available for purchase on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Amazon Luna via the Epic Games Store and Ubisoft Connect.
