Garnished with a musical performance, Ubisoft also brought Skull & Bones back into focus a few days ago as part of the Forward presentation. However, the beta announced here apparently has a catch.
Skull & Bones, which has been postponed countless times in the meantime, recently made a brief appearance at Ubisoft Forward – again. A musical performance including game scenes did not announce a new release date, but an upcoming beta test phase in late summer. As it turns out, this has a catch.
When the beta test registration website went live, players had the option to register for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles in addition to PC. How Insider Gaming citing a statement from a developer via Discord, the consoles should not even be supported during the test phase. The beta will only be run on PC.
There it was announced that the beta was “never intended for consoles”; the registration option was therefore a mistake – and it has been fixed in the meantime. Although there is no official statement on this fact, there are Registrations for participation in the beta are now only possible for the PC as a platform. So if you wanted to take a closer look at Skull & Bones on one of the consoles after all the trial and error in the past, you will get nothing.
The Skull & Bones beta test is scheduled to run from August 25-28, 2023 and is limited to select players. You can secure your chance to participate by registering. The supposed pirate epic still doesn’t have a release date.
