When Ubisoft recently spoke of a whopping five AAA titles for the new fiscal year in the current annual report, it was reasonable to assume that, given the many years of development, Skull & Bones will also be among them. But apparently we have to wait much longer for the pirate epic.

Ubisoft has scheduled a total of five AAA titles for the fiscal year from April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021. Three of them are the postponed Gods & Monsters, Rainbow Six: Quarantine and Watch_Dogs: Legion, official information is missing on two other titles. According to Kotaku insider Jason Schreier, this will be a new Assassin's Creed and the next Far Cry. However, there is still no trace of the long-announced Skull & Bones – and we will obviously have to wait longer for the release.

Skull & Bones had already been announced for a release in autumn 2018 at E3 2017, but even one and a half years after this time window, no release has yet manifested itself. Such was never announced again and should now be a long time coming.

Here, too, Jason Schreier, who is usually very well informed, has new information ready and emphasizes that the development work has gone through several reboots, meaning that it had to be restarted several times. The responsible creative director also left the team towards the end of 2018. Consequence: It will take some time before the pirate epic is completed.

If you assume that Schreier's previous information is also correct, Skull & Bones would only consider a release in the year after next from Ubisoft – and that will only start on April 1, 2021.
