Skyblivion is a large-scale modding project that is remaking The Elder Scrolls IV using the Skyrim engine and is currently entering its scheduled release year – 2025.

Not bad, right? The modders behind the project certainly think so, and they've released a new progress update/roadmap video just in time for the new year.

In this video, the team confirms that, as of now, the mod is still on track to hit its long-held 2025 release target. There's no specific month or exact date yet, but considering the fun massive mod for Fallout: London was released last year (with multiple delays that weren't strictly the developer's fault), you can understand Skyblivion not wanting to be here Always be fully committed to a specific date.

So, how is the project progressing? Well, when it comes to the “biggest undertaking” of the mod, there's only one thing left to finish. The video narrator said: “We are finalizing the world map. Only the Nibenai region on the eastern border of Cyrodiil needs to be completed,” adding: “Although the map of “Annihilation” is nearly 1/3 larger than the map of “Skyrim” , but we still worked hard to make it. Of course the entire map is custom made, and the details are all handmade.”

While eight of the nine areas of the mod map have been fully landscaped, the team is still working on things like navigation meshes for these areas, and the video will go over the progress of each area and outline some of the things the developers have been working on The location is even more special, such as the expansion of Yunchi Hall.

Skyblivion's developers are still busy with a lot of interior design and are “prioritizing mission locations that require more time and concept than general interior design.” They've also completed the three Oblivion Realms you can access, with the video stating that “as time permits, we will add more to diversify the list of random realms players can enter when they close the Oblivion Gate.”

I don't know about you, but this sounds like it has the potential for fun mischief. In the end, the team only has six tasks yet to start work on, so that ties together nicely as well. In addition, the team also mentioned adding DLC (such as Shivering Islands) and stated that it will study how to handle it after the main module is launched.

As always, the modders at Skyblivion are still looking for new volunteers with relevant skills to help with the project, and if interested, you can head over here .
