Almost eight years after the release of Cities: Skylines, publisher Paradox Entertainment is finally announcing a sequel to the building game. There is a specific release date for Cities: Skylines 2 not yet, but the title should be released in 2023 for the PC, Xbox Series X/S and Playstation 5. Significantly more new information and additional trailers can be expected in the coming months.
What do we know about Cities: Skylines 2?
As part of the unveiling of the new construction game, there was already a first trailer to see, which you can watch right here:

But in addition to the beautiful pictures, was there also concrete information about the features of Cities: Skylines 2? At the time of the announcement, the developers held back with more details, but some interesting information still comes together:
- Release: In case you missed it in the introduction, the build-up game is still to come 2023 appear, but an exact date has not yet been announced.
- Gameplay: Cities: Skylines 2 will
the most realistic city simulation ever
offer and relies on elements that we already know from the predecessor. So not only individual households and the economy of your metropolis are simulated, but also the traffic with cars, buses, trains and more. - Modding and Customizability: The building game wants to offer you many design and building options so that you can build the city of your dreams. Mods created by players should also be supported again from the start. Most recently, in Micha’s opinion, it was the modding community that kept the predecessor exciting:
