the skyline Modders will be adding DLSS, FSR2, and XeSS to the Anniversary and Special Editions of the game.
The modder PureDark developed this addon together with other modders. It’s called Skyrim-Upscaler, available via GitHub, and will be released publicly once the team fixes VR compatibility (thanks RPS).
The addon looks like it can improve framerate with other Skyrim mods installed, but currently it doesn’t work with the popular ENB (Enhanced Natural Beauty) mod. That said, compatibility between ENB and DLSS is being developed.
That’s according to YouTuber Mern, who spoke with the plugin’s modder. And, after trying out the plugin, Mern saw a 50fps increase when running at 4K resolution. However, at 1080p it’s not that much of an improvement due to possible bottlenecks. Mern also didn’t provide information about its PC hardware, nor did it mention what mods, if any, it had installed.
If you want to try it yourself, head over to Github. You will need the shader tools installed for this to work.
