News JVTech Smartphone: This screen expands by itself and it’s amazing!
They know their stuff about screens, but these brands want to go further by offering roll-up screens. Tomorrow’s smartphones and laptops are being announced and their new technologies are stunning.
A smartphone that grows by itself
The Mobile World Congress, one of the most important high-tech trade fairs of the year, is currently taking place in Barcelona. Basically limited to smartphones, many other technologies exist, including prototype laptops.
It was the Motorola company that was responsible for creating a rather original prototype smartphone. In fact, we were treated to a fairly brief presentation of a smartphone a 5 inch screen that can magically transform into a 6.5 inch screen. An extremely compact smartphone that expands when you press the side button twice.
During the presentation, we can see the rest of the screen transitioning to the back of the smartphone. Like an Oppo Find N2 Flip or a Samsung Galaxy Fold, we can discover a screen on the back of the smartphone, ideal for taking quick selfies or simply checking the time. But on the side of Motorola’s rollable tech right now, there’s nothing protecting it in its terms, so imagine if the phone hits the ground… Motorola is in the prototype stage and does not intend to launch this type of product in this 2023.
Go from 12.7 to 15.3 inches in a snap (or almost) with this Lenovo laptop
On the laptop side, Lenovo has given us a great demonstration. This drop down PC presents us with a 12.7 inch panel that grows to 15.3 inches. So, to put it simply, from the size of a classic MacBook Air to a portable gamer’s screen. The “Lenovo Rollable PC” is primarily intended to test the market. The great fashion is the folding screen. The PC screen is stretched and stored in height by passing just below the keyboard. Of course, as you can imagine, closing the computer in its 15 inch form is impossible…
But we are entitled to ask ourselves the following question: What is it for? Especially in the gaming world today we have more and more demands for big screens. This is a more practical feature in many contexts (especially for playing FPS or racing games), but you should know that longer screens at altitude also have their uses. For a work computer, it’s instantly easier to look at a document without having to scroll with your trackpad or our mouse. Ultimately, this Lenovo computer maintains the classic form of such a PC, with the added bonus of a longer screen.
Lenovo is still testing the tech internally for fear the screen will remain blocked, it would be stupid to sell such a product early and get everything from customer service 2 months later.
Asus and Lenovo are already the pioneers of folding screen laptops and the concepts are already convincing. The PC market is groping towards consumer products where performance is not necessarily what customers are looking for.
