For a long time, there was practically no usable smartwatch available for under 50 dollars. But now there are some recommendable models available to buy.
- Smartwatches under 50 dollars can be a practical addition to your smartphone when it comes to receiving notifications or simple health measurements.
- However, they cannot replace a more expensive model – especially in terms of durability, quality and range of functions.
- Nevertheless, in most cases the models can do the bare minimum.
Smartwatches under 50 dollars have been around for a while. The problem: For a long time, almost all of these models were “cheap electronic junk” that was by no means recommended for everyday use. That has changed in recent years, so that we can now show you six recommended smartwatches under 50 dollars. By comparing them, you can find out what advantages and disadvantages the devices have and what you can expect.

Below we present you six recommended smartwatch models for under 50 dollars.
Xiaomi Redmi Watch Active 3
The Xiaomi Redmi Watch Active 3 is one of the few smartwatches in this comparison that comes from a well-known brand. Xiaomi’s cheapest smartwatch costs less than 30 dollars, but comes with a ton of features.
Redmi Watch Active 3
- Display size and type:
- Battery life: up to 12 days
- Blood oxygen measurement?: ✔ And
- Number of sport modes: over 100
- GPS capable?: ✘ No
In addition to the basics such as step and calorie tracking as well as heart rate and blood oxygen saturation, there is sleep tracking, over 200 watch faces, Bluetooth calls and an excellent battery life of up to 12 days. This watch has an unbeatable price-performance ratio and is suitable for practically everyone.
Oukitel BT20
In terms of functionality, the Oukitel BT20 is in almost no way inferior to the Xiaomi watch. The watch is even slightly better in many areas: the built-in display is slightly larger at 1.96 inches, and it is also an AMOLED panel – a feature otherwise unseen in this price range.
Oukitel BT20
- Display size and type: 1,96″, AMOLED
- Battery life: not specified
- Blood oxygen measurement?: ✔ And
- Number of sports modes: over 100
- GPS capable?: ✘ No
The design of the BT20 is reminiscent of a robust outdoor watch – some may like that more, some less. At around 40 dollars, the price is still absolutely fair.
Blackview Smartwatch
The manufacturer Blackview is not an unknown quantity, but is nowhere near as well-known as Xiaomi. Nevertheless, the company offers a very affordable smartwatch in this country that can do a lot for its price.
Blackview Smartwatch
- Display size and type: 1,85″, LCD
- Battery life: 5 to 8 days
- Blood oxygen measurement?: ✔ And
- Number of sports modes: 24
- GPS capable?: ✘ No
You get a similar range of functions as the Xiaomi watch – just without the Xiaomi quality guarantee. The watch is also not waterproof and the battery life is much shorter at five to eight days. But for around 30 dollars, there is no reason to complain.
Jugeman Y66
The Y66 is available from the Chinese no-name brand Jugeman. Although the product images with the edgeless display have obviously been edited with Photoshop, a display size of 1.96 inches is still impressive. The battery life is OK at five to seven days, but is not the longest in comparison.
Jugeman Y66
- Display size and type: 1,96″, LCD
- Battery life: 5 to 7 days
- Blood oxygen measurement?: ✔ And
- Number of sports modes: over 110
- GPS capable?: ✘ No
After all, there are over 110 sports modes and it is IP68 waterproof – which is weaker than the 5 ATM certification that most devices in comparison have. The watch is available for around 40 dollars.
Parsonver Smartwatch
Another brand name we are hearing for the first time is Parsonver. This company has the only round smartwatch in the comparison. It has a 1.32-inch LCD display, making it the smallest screen in the comparison.
Parsonver Smartwatch
- Display size and type: 1.32″, LCD (round)
- Battery life: 5 to 8 days
- Blood oxygen measurement?: ✔ And
- Number of sports modes: over 100
- GPS capable?: ✘ No
It also has a battery life of five to eight days and the usual range of smartwatch functions. This smartwatch is also only IP68 certified. We think the price of around 42 dollars is still OK.
Medion P4000
The Medion P4000 is the second brand name in the comparison that most users will be familiar with. The LCD display is square, 1.3 inches in size and comes with fairly thick display edges. Curiously, the manufacturer has not integrated a blood oxygen saturation measurement into this device – but has included a GPS module, which is very rare in this price range.
Medion P4000
- Display size and type: 1,3″, LCD
- Battery life: up to 10 days
- Blood oxygen measurement?: ✘ No
- Number of sports modes: not specified
- GPS capable?: ✔ And
The watch is available with a battery life of up to 10 days for around 30 dollars. We particularly recommend this model to customers who want to use GPS without their smartphone.
