If you’ve found the Starfield universe a little too boring for you, I’ve got good news – one modder has tried adding a giant golden Terrormorph boss fight to it, and it doesn’t look like that at all.
Yes, while many modders have mainly stuck to games like Fallout 4 and Skyrim, we’re now at the point where Starfield’s creation toolkit may need some time before people really start trying to unlock its full modding potential Before it arrives, some in the meantime, loyal folks are still working on or planning interesting mods. If for no other reason, one of these definitely looks like a fun reason to visit Earth.

Here I present to you “The Hound of Hephaestus”, the latest creation from modder InquisitorOverhaulsReturn. Yes, it’s a giant, terrifying shape-shifting boss with solid gold skin that you can find near landmarks in Cairo on an interstellar version of Earth. Why is the skin golden? Greek mythology is the answer.
What’s it like to fight, you ask?Well, the answer so far seems to be interestingin almost every sense of the word.
As you can see in the demo video below from the modder, it’s level 200, can easily burrow underground in very hilarious ways, and can kill you in one hit. Think Malenia from Elden Ring, but with the shovel and grace of a Great Dane on ice.
Granted, it’s a challenge unless it glitches and either loses some of its massive health points or ends up jumping very high in the air and dying immediately upon landing, as some people in the mod’s comments have reported.
Anyway, it sounds and looks like you’re doing it for Interesting things When you land on Earth with your little spaceship that’s a little bit boring (well, if you’re one of those people who built a spaceship in the shape of a hot dog or a truck, this bit doesn’t apply to you), your little spaceship is a little boring ’s little space suit, and your little boring gun.
Now, having said all that, I do want to point out that as someone who is completely out of their depth trying to develop any kind of mod, let alone something fairly complex like this, anyone modding the pre-creation kit Starfield Really got my respect for their efforts. InquisitorOverhaulsReturn even offers some nice unique rewards that you can earn if you beat it, regardless of whether it happens as expected or not.
Speaking of Starfield, reports suggest it could be one of the games Xbox is considering bringing to PS5 at some point in the future, as part of a rumored shift in strategy that Phil Spencer plans to discuss next week.
