As casting continues for Christopher Nolan’s next film, a report suggests it will be a period vampire film.
Earlier this month, rumors began circulating about the next film directed by Oppenheimer and current Oscar-winner Christopher Nolan, mainly due to its 2026 release date and starring Matt Damon . The Hollywood Reporter has since revealed that current network singer Tom Holland has joined the project, but both characters are still shrouded in much mystery. But following that report, io9 later shared the rumors it had heard about the project, which is what the movie is roughly about. According to the media report, a reliable source said that the film is a vampire movie set in the 1920s.

The Hollywood Reporter also says that its sources say the movie isn’t set in the present day, so it sounds like the rumor has some credibility. Of course, as io9 did, it’s worth pointing out that this isn’t the only early 20th century vampire horror film coming out, with Black Panther director Ryan Coogler also working on one: sinner”. The first trailer for the film, starring Michael B. Jordan in a dual role as a twin, was released last month, and while it didn’t show us its supernatural horror, the atmosphere was certainly strong, so Nolan must does a lot of things that make his movies unique if that’s the context.
There’s obviously a lot of expectations for Nolan as well, considering how he ended up winning an Oscar for Oppenheimer , but when you’re getting a seven-figure check from Warner Bros. to try to lure him back, With no strings attached (no matter what his next film will be at Universal again) and an offer to direct a James Bond movie, I think you’d probably feel pretty confident.
