sega announced Sonic Origins Plusbased on the 2022 digitally remastered collection of Sonic classics.
The announcement shouldn’t come as a shock, considering the leak from the Korea Rating Board in February.
Instead of just four games in one package like Sonic Origins, Origins Plus includes 12 additional Sonic games for Game Gear, each playable at the museum.
It also added Amy as a playable character on Sonic The Hedgehog 1-3 and the Sonic CD, and Knuckles on the Sonic CD and all released DLC.
You can look forward to different modes, areas, challenges and classic mode, which gives the original Sonic game a retro look and classic challenges. Anniversary mode features full screen and infinite lives that won’t end the game.
Sonic Origins Plus will be released in box and digital form on June 23, Sonic’s birthday. It’s available for $39.99 on PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
Existing Sonic Origins owners can purchase the Sonic Origins Plus expansion pack for $9.99.
